eIRB+

eIRB+ is the Northwestern University IRB's electronic submission and review system for human research. A Northwestern NetID is required to register for the system and obtain an eIRB+ profile. All staff and/or affiliates involved in the conduct of human research through Northwestern University must obtain an eIRB+ profile (see below), in addition to meeting Human Research Protections Training requirements, before engaging in any human research activity. Your eIRB+ profile is used to reflect your Human Research Protections Training record from the CITI Program as well as for IRB.

If you are new to the eIRB+ system and wish to learn how to use it by working in the test system, then you can log in with your netID and password. Please note that to view any ongoing studies in the production system, the person listed as the Primary Contact will need to grant you access to the test system. Please note that any work or changes completed in the test system cannot be transferred over to production. The test system is subject to reset at any time, meaning any work done there may be deleted.

The IRB Office Compliance Team conducts post-approval monitoring (PAM) activities in the eIRB+ Compliance Workspace, which is separate from the IRB review activities performed in eIRB+.  Access the eIRB+ Compliance Workspace by logging into eIRB+ using the login link below (the same as you would for IRB review activities). See the IRB Office’s eIRB+ Compliance Workspace Page for additional information and training materials.

Contact the Department of Information Technology to reactivate an expired Northwestern NetID.
