"Study Team Member" Personnel Changes

In an effort to reduce burden on the research community and the IRB, we are changing how ‘study team member’ personnel changes are reviewed by the IRB Office. Principal Investigators are still required to maintain the study team members list in the eIRB+ application and for ensuring that all study team members complete human subjects protection training every three years. NIH Single IRB Policy Implementation

As you were previously notified, the Northwestern University IRB Office has been diligently working to have a process in place for implementing the NIH Single IRB policy at our institution. Important Notice: Delayed Common Rule Effective Date

January 18, 2018
The Department of Health and Human Services along with 15 other federal departments and agencies have delayed by six months the effective date and compliance date of the revisions to the Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects (also known as the Common Rule) to July 19, 2018.
