The New eIRB+ Compliance Workspace
The IRB Office is proud to introduce the new eIRB+ Compliance Workspace to further enhance our monitoring program’s effectiveness. We are moving away from email and paper-based checklists and forms and transitioning monitoring and auditing processes into a dedicated space developed within the electronic IRB submission system, eIRB+. Through our partnership and collaboration with Research Information Technology (RIT), we designed the eIRB+ Compliance Workspace, which provides a platform for post-approval monitoring (PAM) and other IRB Compliance activities, allowing for more streamlined and efficient processes.
To access the eIRB+ Compliance Workspace, researchers and their study teams will simply log into eIRB+ and navigate to the ‘Compliance’ tab located on the right side of the purple navigation bar at the top of the page. This will allow you access the Workspace and its features. Action is only required in the Workspace if you receive a notification that the IRB Compliance team has selected your study to undergo routine post-approval monitoring.
The eIRB+ Compliance Workspace will launch in November 2024, and the Compliance Team will gradually shift our routine monitoring activities into the Workspace. ensure a smooth and seamless changeover, giving you time to familiarize yourself with the new system. During the launch, a dedicated webpage and training materials for the eIRB+ Compliance Workspace will be available for the research community. Please visit the IRB Office’s Compliance webpage for more information.
To coincide with the release, we invite you to attend the upcoming November Brown Bag on Wednesday, November 13, titled “Streamlining Compliance: The New eIRB+ Compliance Workspace”. The presentation will cover the features of the eIRB+ Compliance Workspace, the post-approval monitoring process within the system, and other components that will be phased into the eIRB+ Compliance Workspace over time. A registration link for the November Brown Bag presentation is forthcoming via email and on our Events page.
