August 2023 IRB Bulletin: News from the IRB Office
As a part of the Northwestern University IRB Office’s initiative to share timely resources and information with the research community, the IRB Bulletin is released at the beginning of each month and contains relevant updates from the IRB office. New Human Research Protections Training Requirements Forthcoming
Updates to Training and Education Page & Training Requirements
The IRB Office will rollout new mandated human research protections training requirements in September 2023 that will affect all Northwestern/-affiliated human researchers at the time of basic and refresher trainings. Please look forward to listserv and website communications on those new requirements in the coming weeks and consider registering for our September IRB Brown Bag: A Lesson on (New) Streamlined IRB Training Requirements & Records Management (Wednesday, September 20, 2023, 12PM) where IRB staff will detail those important changes along with tips for a smoother training integration process.
In addition to registering for this event, we ask that you submit your IRB training questions so we may tailor this session to meet your informational needs. We look forward to seeing you there!
August IRB Brown Bag Session
Nothing About Us, Without Us: The Basics of Community-Driven Research
Please join ARCC Community Partner, Sherida Morrison, and ARCC Co-Director, Jen Brown, on Wednesday, August 16, 12 to 1 PM, for a special presentation on community-engaged research and how Northwestern University considers the varied expertise of academics and communities to improve the relevance, design, and impact of research.
