Upcoming eIRB+ Upgrade & Temporary Downtime

The Northwestern University IRB Office would like to inform the research community that the eIRB+ system is being upgraded. To complete the upgrade, eIRB+ will be unavailable from Friday, October 17 at 5:00 PM until Saturday, October 18 at 1:00 PM (CST).

Researchers are encouraged to save their work and submit any in-progress items prior to 5:00 PM on Friday to avoid data loss. The system will return to service on Saturday, October 18.

While there are no major functionality changes, users will notice a refreshed look and feel designed to enhance navigation and usability.

Key updates:

• Inbox replaced by Dashboard: The Inbox tab has been replaced by Dashboard in the top purple navigation bar.
• New Dashboard menu: The left-hand menu now includes:
  • Recently Viewed Projects: displays the last 10 projects you opened.
  • Pinned: allows you to pin up to 10 projects for easy access.
• Submission navigation updates: Within submissions, a new left-hand navigation panel replaces the previous Jump To Users must click Save to preserve their work before exiting.

No Action Required

No additional action is needed from users at this time. This update is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the eIRB+ platform to better support the research community.
